CHARLIE Pillay closed the Dhodhoi’s Fast Foods singles as champion last Wednesday.Top half veteran Paddy Padayachee beat Meersingh Soobram 2-0 to advance to the next round meeting with Nine Pillay.
Nine was in top form against Paddy Padayachee in the quarter finals, producing excellent darts thus ousting Padayachee two straight games. Padayachee’s 180 could not stop Nine from sailing through to the semi-finals.
Nine faced Devan Gounden who successfully beat Justin Naidoo 2-1 to book a place in the semi-finals. Nine stunned the house by beating Gounden 2-0 to book a place in the finals.
Bottom half saw Charlie Pillay beating Jodie Naidoo 2-0 to move in the quarter finals to meet Yogan Pillay who beat Jerry Aruachellam 2-0 to book a semi-finals clash.
Yogan could not keep up with his uncle Charlie thus resulting in his 2-0 loss. Charlie’s 180 score saw him booking a final to verse Nine. Charlie drew first blood and took a 1-0 lead.
However Nine came from a set down to level the scores and push the game to a third and decisive set. Nine entertained the house with some top scores to lead and land him into a double 20.
Charlie regained his composure and clawed himself closer to end in a double 20.
With both players on double 20, Nine had 3 darts to close the game, but eventually his luck ran out leaving Charlie Pillay to make no mistake and close the game, crowning him the Dhodhoi’s Fast Foods singles champion.
