Diwali hampers for less fortunate

THE Shree Hanuman Temple Group of Stanger Manor will be donating 300 Diwali hampers to the value of approximately R60 000 to poor and needy residents of KwaDukuza.

For the last 20 years the group has provided relief in the form of Diwali hamper and this year is no different.
From humble beginnings of 50 hampers, the group now distributes 300 due to the ever increasing demand.
Main sponsor, councillor Madhun Sing said it is thanks to the provider, the almighty, and his business Hypersingh Pooja Shop, he is able to make this contribution.

“We must not be selfish with our wealth, it is in giving that we receive.

“It is in making others happy that we get happiness and peace in our lives. Where there is despair we must bring hope.

“Where there is darkness we must bring light. Where there is sadness we must bring joy.

“The Shree Hanuman Group has been serving the community for 34 years since inception in 1982.”

This year the Diwali celebration will take place on Sunday, 23 October at the Shree Hanuman Temple Shrine, 19 Rose Road, Stanger Manor and the public is invited to attend.

Application for hampers open on Wednesday, 12 October (today) and close on Wednesday, 19 October.
Priority will be given to the Hindu community.
Unemployed persons and persons with family will receive top priority.
Applicants are requested to take their ID and/or pension card to Hypersinghs Pooja Shop, 17 Lindley Street, Stanger.

Anyone wishing to contribute or donate, the cost per hamper is R220.
