WHILE we sit at tables brimming with sumptuous meals, on the opposite end of the globe, our brethren are braving perilous conditions and the rough seas to flee their place of birth and their homes.
They have lost loved ones and are enduring unimaginable hardship.
Hundreds of lives are being lost daily and mass burials are being conducted.
The Gift of the Needy is privileged and humbled to have been in Greece to assist arriving refugees. Blankets, fruit, milk, clothing and comfort were provided to the hundreds of refugees, some as young as a few months old and others as old as 80.
A generator was also sponsored to be utilised in the medical camp for minor surgical procedures and to provide light and heat.
Gift of the Needy plans to return in a few weeks to continue much-needed relief efforts.
