Glenhills festival of lights

THIS year’s grand 14th Diwali Celebration (festival of light) by the Glenhills and District Diwali Committee promises to be great fun for the whole family.
To be held on Saturday, 22 October at the Glenhills Sports
Grounds from 2pm until midnight, this celebration is a combined event with stakeholders including KwaDukuza Municipality, Glenhills Sporting, the youth and the organising committee and Glenhills and District Diwali Committee.
A star-studded entertainment programme is on offer with Trisha’s and Kashwin’s Dance Academy, Nagara Sensations, Suvina Sensations, Naya Savera, 99 Flavours and the classic R & S School of Music and Dance of Durban.
Guest speakers will be addressing all in attendance on the theme light over darkness while the guest of honour Ravi Pillay, KZN MEC for Human Settlement, will highlight how to achieve just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.
A grand cultural dress parade will be held and winners will receive fabulous prizes. As always the biggest and the brightest fireworks display will be held with pyrotechnicians Jairaj and Ajen Sing assisted by Dhardesh Singh.
A tuck shop will be available with a large variety of treats. Free meals and refreshments will be provided throughout the afternoon. Car guards and security will be provided by Eagle Eye Protection Services while the SAPS and Crime Prevention Unit will also make themselves available to provide further enforcement. Ample parking will be available.
The Glenhills and District Diwali Committee like to take this opportunity to thank all donors and sponsors for making the celebration a huge success annually.
