KDDA hosts mixed doubles tournament

THE KwaDukuza Darts Association hosted a mixed doubles tournament on Wednesday night at the Quartz Sports Bar. The duo of Len Naidoo and Neeran Somnath clinched the doubles tournament.
Top half of the draw saw Neeran and Len beat Navern Coopsamy and Charlie Pillay 2-1 to advance to the first semi- finals.
Nine Pillay and Justin Naidoo proved too strong and defeated Devan Gounden and Rowen Pillay 2-0 to meet Len and Neeran in the second semi.
The bottom half saw Sanjoy Chetty and Kyle Pillay beat Preolin and Ajen 2-1 to advance to the semi-final. Darrel Shanmagun and Yogan Pillay beat Deena and Paddy Padayachee 2-1. The first semi-finals was do or die as Len and Neeran beat Nine and Justin in the first set.
Nine and Justin left Len and Neeran flatfooted to win and level the scores 1-1. Len and Neeran got their act together and silenced Nine and Justin to book themselves into the final.
In the second semi-finals Darrel and Yogan were surprised when Kyle and Sanjoy won the first set.
Darrel and Yogan recovered and won the next two sets to advance to the final. Len and Neeran stamped their authority from the start and won the first set. Darrel and Yogan replied well and won the second set to level the scores 1-1.
Both Len and Neeran were unstoppable as they threw top darts and good tallies and disposed Darrel and Neeran to clinch the doubles title.Tonight the association will host a mixed trebles tournament sponsored by Chandini's Travel and Tours.?
