Manor end season on a high

MANOR Cricket Club ended its domestic season on a high with victories in both the 20-20 A league and the under 16 league.

Manor Cricket Club accounted in emphatic style for both Oceanville A and Morningside under 16 in the iLembe District local league fixtures played over the weekend.

In the first fixture Manor A played Oceanville A at the Country Club grounds on Saturday, 16 April with Oceanville winning the toss and electing to bat.

Oceanville got of to a rollicking start, scoring 45 runs for the loss of one wicket in the first 5 overs with Rajiv Ramsing scoring a quick-fire 26.
The Manor spinning department was called upon to stem the flow of runs.
Manor spinners Alex Pillay notched up 2 wickets in 4 overs for 17 runs, Sieshan Loganathen racked up 1 for 14 runs and Alveiro Nadesan bowled 1 over and took 2 wickets for 4 runs.
Oceanville scored 103 for 9 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.

An explosive 50 run opening partnership between Alveiro Nadesan and KZN under 17 captain Cameron Pillay set up a emphatic victory for Manor A in just 9 overs.
Manor replied by scoring 105 for 2 wickets after 9 overs.
Top scorers were Alveiro Nadsen 49, Cameron Pillay 35, and Comfort Shange 11 not out.

The Manor under 16 team accounted for Morningside under 16 in similar fashion.
Morningside scored a paltry 49 all out. Manor accounted for the runs in just 6 overs without the loss of any wickets. Top scorer Saieshan Loganathan made 36 runs and Ridwaan Mlongo,16 runs.

Manor under 16 team was inspired by their new kit sponsored by Natdale Insulation Contractors.
