MANOR Cricket Club’s under 16 squad defeated United Cricket Club and remain undefeated in the Ilembe and District Cricket Union with their victory against United on Sunday, 10 April.
Manor won the toss and elected to bat first on a difficult track, and could only muster 84 for 10 in 19 overs. Skipper Saieshan Loganathan was the top scorer for Manor with a responsible 36 and was aided by a quick fire 17 runs from KZN cap Cameron Pillay.
Pick of the United bowlers was Humza Ismail who took three wickets for 14 runs in 4 overs, Ziyaad who returned bowling figures of 3 for 28 in his alloted 4 overs.
In response United could only muster up 74 runs in their alloted 20 overs, with Ziyaad the only player to reach double figures.
The Manor under 16 boys enjoyed a phenomenal season accounting for last seasons Dawnheights Cricket Club, Oceanville Cricket Club and now United Cricket Club. Manor Cricket Club under 16 will take on Morningside under 16 on Sunday, 16 April.
