KWADUKUZA mayor Ricardo Mthembu made his first visit to the R1.7 billion Ballito Regional Mall where he used that platform to welcome the huge investment.

He said the mall, which is due to open to the public officially on Thursday, 23 March, is an initiative that will help reduce unemployment and boost the economy.

The visit formed part of preparations for the opening.

“It is clear that KwaDukuza is an area of investment. We wish to welcome this investment and co-operation that will certainly scale up employment opportunities and enhance economic growth,” said Mthembu at a tenants meeting at the regional mall.
According to developers Flanagan & Gerard Property Development & Investment and Menlyn Maine Investment Holdings, the 80 000 square metre mall will boast 200 stores and eight Nu Metro cinemas which include an IMAX and 4-D theatre.

The Urban Eatery on the ground floor will be an open plan food court with a diverse selection of restaurants.
Stores and restaurants will include Typo, Cotton On, Adidas, Tread + Miller, Turn n Tender Steak House, Big Blue, Tashas, RVC, Keedo Kids, Rubi Shoes, Gold Rush Bingo and Entertainment, Exclusive Books, Browns, Polo, Coricraft and Cotton Body.
