A POLICE officer with the Nyoni SAPS was allegedly shot three times last week at Amanda Farm by a wanted suspect.

The officer was rushed to a hospital and the suspect managed to escape. The SAPS have since actioned a manhunt.

KZN SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Thembeka Mbhele said the suspect is wanted for murder, attempted murder and business robbery.

“The suspect in this matter is still at large and the police are tracking him. An arrest is imminent,” she said.

KZN SAPS spokesperson, Lieutenant-Colonel Thulani Zwane said the suspect is wanted in connection with a case of business robbery after a victim was held up earlier this month by two suspects who took cash and cell phones.
He said the suspects had entered the victim’s shop pretending to be customers.

“A case of murder and attempted murder was opened at Nyoni police station after two people were shot.
“A woman died at the scene and the second victim sustained gunshot wounds. No arrests have been made,” Zwane said.
