Padayachee clinches pre-season singles title

2017-03-08 06:03

THE Kwadukuza Darts Association (KDDA) held a pre-season tournament last Wednesday evening at the Quartz Sports Bar.

The top half of the draw saw Yogan Pillay beating Len Naidoo 2-0 to advance to the semi finals. Preolin Muthusamy beat Vinesh Geanbally 2-1 in the second semi final to meet Pillay.
Yogan had no easy game against Muthusamy who played top darts. Yogan won the first set and Muthusamy equalised to level it 1-1. Yogan had to work very hard and closed the game in time to win 2-1 and advance into the final.

The second half of the draw saw Paddy Padayachee defeat Kyle Pillay 2-0 to advance into the semi final, while Jerry Arunachellum beat Rowen Pillay 2-1 to meet Padayachee. Padayachee made no mistake and demolished Arunachellum 2-0 to advance into the final to meet Yogan Pillay.
The final lived up to expectations with both players producing top darts. Padayachee won the first set and Yogan, who put up a strong fight, levelled the scores 1-1. Padayachee then stepped up his tempo and left Yogan flatfooted to clinch the pre-season singles title.
Tonight, the association will host its first council meeting and team registration. All players and managers must be present at the meeting. Thereafter the association will host a mixed doubles game.?
