PUPILS from Stanger Manor Secondary and Primary Schools jetted off to Lucknow, India on Friday to participate in the International Youth Mathematics Conference.

Five Stanger Manor Primary pupils, Mayush Raghubeer, Shayur Daodary, Heu'riqsha Subban, Darrien Naicker and Kellisha Govender together with eight Stanger Manor Secondary pupils, Tia Moonsamy, Evashen Pillay, Dayeshni Moodley, Preshivan Govender, Arveer Maharaj, Vyuna Avathar, Sayuri Naidoo and Talia Augustine are participating in the event.
Speaking to the Weekly, Stanger Manor Secondary principal TM Gounden said: “This is indeed a great honour to participate in the highest competition in the world for the pupils in their respective age categories. The experience and exposure will give our pupils the edge in mathematics.”

The Olympiad will take place from 2 to 5 December.

“On behalf of the staff, pupils, parents and the school governing body we wish our pupils every success on the international stage,” said Gounden.
