Stanger Secondary’s high fliers

STANGER Secondary School held their annual speech and awards evening on Friday to celebrate the achievements of the class of 2015.

The guest speaker was Reshini Misra, a former pupil of the school who is now a successful practising attorney.
In her address, she urged both the matriculants embarking on new horizons and the younger pupils to always raise the bar higher, to believe in themselves and to be fearless in the wake of challenges.
Overall, the school produced a 79% pass rate in the National Senior Certificate Examination with 114 distinctions.
The school also produced its first batch of Information Technology pupils in 10 years; and produced remarkable results with the top two IT pupils in the iLembe District coming from Stanger Secondary School.

The school’s top achiever, Mahesh Shailendra Naidoo took home a total of 25 trophies including the coveted Dux, Goodfellowship Award and earned the highest position for Information Technology in iLembe.
The Courtesy Award went to Ian Joganna. Top achiever in Grade 9 was Shaleena Dunpall taking a total of 10 trophies.

The top achiever in Grade 10 was Nosipho Samkelisiwe Mthembu, who earned six trophies and setting the tone for matric 2016, the top achiever in Grade 11 was Sabeeha Kallan, with a grand total of eight trophies.
