WOMEN of KwaDukuza and surrounding areas were treated to a special event to commemorate national Women’s Day this year hosted by Nation Builders, a non-profit organisation that was founded by local lady, Annet Michelle Sewraj, in 2015.

Nation Builders hosted 130 women from different spheres of society.
The guest speakers, experts in their fields, spoke to empower and inspire guests.
Speakers included business entrepreneur, Carol Ligwa, who empowered the women with her tried-and-tested principles for business success. Thandi Meyiwa, a training and development specialist, encouraged women to hone their skills and use them to empower others. She also shed light on how women can access government funding and Setas for training assistance.
Tresia Bekker, a dietician at the Stanger Hospital, spoke about ways that women can keep their families healthy, providing tips for shopping for nutritious foods and preparing healthier meals.

The keynote speaker was the founder of Nation Builders, Sewraj. She encouraged women to see themselves as the true agents of change and the real nation-builders in society.
She stressed that women have the power to build stronger families and to rise up into positions of influence in the different domains of society.

The event was graced by many well-known local personalities including deputy mayor Dolly Govender, Ballito ward councillor Tammy Colley, attorney Shantha Nair, psycho-social therapist Jenny Naidoo and communications and marketing manager of Enterprise iLembe, Cheryl Peters.
