2015-09-17 06:00

One of Build It KwaNobuhle’s invited guests, Pollen Ntlayana, an ex-Bafana Bafana striker, one day suggested a local soccer league be organised for keeping kids off the street.

Since then the Build It soccer tournament has been organised for every Saturday. There currently are 29 teams participating in the league event.

“With the senior league, we also have several teams playing in a league every week-end for the entire year,” said Michael Mubvanyika, Build It KwaNobuhle: Manager.

“The exciting news is that our staff from Kwanobuhle Build It have formed their own team. The 18 members have agreed that they will in 2016 be part of the senior league, which include teams from the KwaNobuhle and Uitenhage areas.”

Besides trophies, cups and clothing Build It has also contributed cash incentives to the senior and junior players. The top junior player has his 2016 school fees paid in full by Build It KwaNohuble.

“The Build It Group has also recently introduced a league/tournament for the top 10 junior soccer players to come together and play a super tournament.

“Kids will be chosen from each tournament, coming together in each Province on a predetermined day, to have a champions play off.”
