A spotless Chevrolet Roadster convertible, built at the General Motors plant in Port Elizabeth during 1932, will be one of the unique four-wheelers at the Cars andamp; Coffee Show on Saturday.

Except for the free coffee and biscuits offered to all attending the show at Speedyquip, 3 Prince Alfred Road in North End, the interesting stories awaiting to be told by owners of eccentric vehicles and bikes, will be just as nice.

“This two seater Chevvy has been in the family for the past 60 years. One of our sons, Jonathan or better known as ‘Don-Don’ inherited it,” said Derek Elliot, organiser of the Speedyquip Cars andamp; Coffee Show.

Although Jonathan for the past 12 years lives in St Petersburg, USA, the Chevvy with its “dickey seat” will be at the show. A vintage car tour will also be held in celebration of Heritage Day. All cars up to and including 1940 models will be eligible, and will leave Port Elizabeth on September 24th, for a three day tour.

“Some of these cars have not been on the road for years!” said Elliot.

A total of 22 cars have already entered for the tour. These include two Ford Model T cars (one is a 1912 model) as well as the yellow 1932 Chevrolet Roadster.

“We are hoping that most of these cars will be on display at our Cars andamp; Coffee event this Saturday,” said Elliot.

)The Speedyquip Cars andamp; Coffee show will be from 08:00 to 12:00. For more information contact Derek on 082 825 0811 or Jerome 082 652 6579
