Ilinge Primary School in Uitenhage is celebrating its 50th year of educational empowerment today and tomorrow.

Ilinge alumnus, Deputy Minister of Finance, Mcebisi Jonas, is set to deliver an exhilarating keynote address during the school’s gala dinner.

“We are proud of our two-day festivities in celebration of Ilinge’s 50th founding anniversary. It is also to further strengthen its foundation for the future of education in Uitenhage and the Nelson Mandela Bay region,” said Mlungisi Matana, principal of Ilinge Primary School.

The celebrations commence with a sports day and fun run which are held today at the school grounds. It will be followed by a ceremonial assembly tomorrow.

The honourable Deputy Minister of Finance will deliver the keynote at the fundraising gala dinner Friday evening.
