In a first of its kind, the PE Classic Bike Racing will, during their Motorcycle Track Day at Aldo Scribante, host a safety talk for high school teenagers who ride their motorcycles or scooters to school.

This exciting event will be hosted on Sunday, May 24th and the participating classes include classic and historic motorcycles, breakfast runners and superbikes and the Honda NSF 100 training motorcycles for the 8-14 year-olds who will do demonstration rides at the circuit.

“PE Classic Bike Racing has decided to do this safety programme for the school commuters, as there is currently such a high rate of motorcycle accidents happening on a daily basis,” said Lucille Elliott.

The teenagers will receive safety tips from the older more experienced riders, and also have three, twenty minute outings on the circuit, where the experienced riders will show them the racing lines, and give them a taste of what it is like to ride their motorcycles in a safe environment.

The entry fee for the Track Day is only R50 for the school commuter riders. They will need to bring their own motorcycles to the circuit, have an adult on hand to sign the indemnity form on their behalf, and also produce a valid driver’s licence.

They will need to wear long jeans; sneakers or boots; shirt with a jacket, gloves and helmet, for safety reasons.

The Track Day cost for adult riders is R200 for the day.

Registration will commence at 08:00.

There will be an ambulance on duty until the end of the programme.

Specatators are welcome free of charge.

There will be catering caravans, and a full bar and braai service in the clubhouse, after the event, where all the bikers can get together and watch the UK Round of the Superbike Championship.
