The search is on for the next Mrs Commonwealth South Africa title holder and three women from Uitenhage namely Lynn Liberty, Hendrika Saaimans and Charmaine Hendricks are among this year’s finalists.

Commonweath Pageants South Africa is all about empowering women with knowledge to bring about change to communities in need. The grand finale of the Mrs Commonwealth SA pageant takes place at The Lyric Theatre at Gold Reef City on September 12th. The winner will represent South Africa at the international event in London during November 2015 where the representatives of 53 Commonwealth member states will compete for the prestige title.

“I’ve been scouted by the current Mrs Commonwealth SA Marinda Herbst who hails from Port Elizabeth,” said Lynn Liberty, a businesswoman from Uitenhage who also has her heart in non-profit organisations with the aim to empower the youth.

“This pageant is not about beauty, but more about your involvement in the community and especially your corporate involvement and what projects you’ve driven in co-operation with local businesses to make a difference in your social environment.”

As part of Lynn Liberty’s involvement in the Uitenhage community she will be hosting a Cancer Drive and cupcake day on Saturday, May 2nd.

This is in line with the national Pink Drive which will be supported by pageants.

“My goal is to hand-out 2 000 cupcakes and to have an event at the market square involving pink balloons being set free in the air and awareness regarding cancer.
