Career day held today at John Walton

A career is being hosted today by the John Walton Area Neighbourhood Watch in conjunction with the John Walton High School.

All matriculants, Grade 9 learners (subject choice) as well as their parents or guardians, as well as unemployed youth are invited to explore avenues of re-igniting their career aspirations.

Various institutions are present which include the South African Police Service, South African Army, South African Navy, Department of Labour, Nelson Mandela University, KwaNobuhle Technical College, Eastcape Midlands College, nursing fraternity, social workers as well as the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality.

Harambee Youth Employment Accelerator is also present.

It is a 100% free opportunity for the young unemployed who meet specific criteria for entry level jobs available across a range of sectors. It also offers free work readiness programmes to help unemployed young people fit into their first job.

There will also be information regarding bursaries and student loans.

  • The career day is being held from 09:00 to 13:00 at John Walton School.
