EC karate trials held at VW AutoPavilion

Eastern Cape karate trials as well as a refresher course for karate referees will be held at the VW PeoplePavilion in Uitenhage.

The refreshers course for referees, table officials, matt runners and coaches will be held tomorrow from 18:00. On Saturday from 08:00 to 19:00 it will be time for the Eastern Cape karate trials. There will be six tatami mats on the day.

The top four karateka identified at the trials will be offered the opportunity to go to Karate South Africa Nationals which will be held from 3-5 March 2017 in Tongaat near Durban. The nationals for U.21, senior and veterans will be held in Cape Town from 17-18 March.

Karate SA is the only body accepted by SASCOC and IOC for the Olympics.

  • The public are most welcome to attend Saturday’s karate trials at the VW Auto-Pavilion in Uitenhage.
