Former Despatch head boy commended for his studies in mechatronics

Theo Weyers from Despatch achieved his Bachelor of Engineering in Mechatronics cum laude at the Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

He received the NMMU Council Award, a first degree award for 2016 in the Faculty of Engineering, the Built Environment and Information Technology as well as a special award for being the best 4th year student.

This is an award he actually received with the completion of his 1st, 2nd and 3rd year, as the best mechatronics student.

Apart from this the South African Institution of Mechanical Engineering awarded Weyers for being a meritorious student for the programme B. Eng. (Mechatronics) at NMMU.

Weyers hails from Despatch where he was the head boy and Dux learner of Despatch High School. He also earned the Vice Chancelor Scholarship to study at NMMU, which he completed cum laude!
