All local young and enthusiastic soccer players, girls and boys, are invited to a “Friendship” tournament which will be held during the forthcoming school holiday at Jubilee Park Sports Fields in Uitenhage.

What is different from the Swiftresponse Street Soccer Classic (Friendship) tournament is that it is not teams invited to enter, but individuals. And there is no entry fee.

“The purpose of the tournament is to build friendships, to unite and together enjoy the beautiful game of soccer,” said Ade Adekunle from Swiftsresponse Street Soccer Classic.

The previous tournament was held during October 2016 and attracted approximately 190 young soccer players from the area.

“Young players just have to register and then there will be ballots to draw and teams will be compiled. The team members will be given time to decide on a name and then the games will kick-off,” said Adekunle.

The tournament will be held on 11 & 13 April at the Jubilee Sports Fields in Uitenhage. Registration (free) is at 08:30 on April 11th.

“It is not about winning or losing, but uniting through sport, bonding with new friends and enjoying the game,” said Adenkunle.
