Gamble Pharmacy teams dominate night races

Nelson Mandela Bay’s unique Town Lodge Business Night Relay enjoyed another fantastic winter’s evening at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium for the 2nd round of this corporate event.

Just over 70 teams took part in the event which is open to running teams of 5 people and walking teams of 3 and is starting to grow in popularity.

Once again it was the Gamble Pharmacy teams from Uitenhage that dominated the races with their men’s team winning the 17.5km race in just over 1 hour ahead of the SPAR DC team with About IT putting in a great performance to finish in 3rd place.

“We had a lot of new teams and a great number of the participants dressing the part to try to win our R500 Caltex Fuel voucher for the best dressed participant,” said series director Michael Zoetmulder of Zsports Events NPC.

Gamble’s mixed team won their division ahead of the mixed SPAR DC team and the Fit for Christ Warriors team.

For the ladies it was the Investec Blister Sisters team who triumped ahead of Woodridge Prep ladies and the PW Harvey ladies teams whilst Keiskamma Cycle Tour walking team continue to dominate the walk division ahead of Town Lodge Moonwalkers and the PW Harvey walking team.

Immediate after the race participants took part in the lucky draw prize giving with over R20 000 in lucky draw prizes including R1 000 cash, a 2 night stay for two people anywhere in the country at one of the City Lodge Hotels Group hotels, and a Puma voucher valued at around R2 500.
