Helpende Hand se harte ‘klop rooi’

Op Valentynsdag was daar vir die span van Solidariteit Helpende Hand-tak op Uitenhage geen groter liefdesgebaar as die geskenk van lewe nie.

Daarom het die tak besluit om dié dag te vier deur bloed te skenk by die Suid-Afrikaanse Nasionale Bloeddiens (SANBS) en terselfdertyd die onselfsugtige werkers te bederf met verversings.

Taklede het gaan bloed skenk by die plaaslike SANBS kantoor in Billsonstraat, Uitenhage. Melinda Labuscagne, ‘n komiteelid, kon self nie bloed skenk nie, maar het heerlike kolwyntjies gebak wat saam met koeldrank in ’n spesiale omgee-mandjie verpak is.

“Hoewel ons tak se fokus die opheffing van kinders in die gemeenskap is en ons nou betrokke is by plaaslike skole, glo Helpende Hand daarin om terug te ploeg in die gemeenskap.

“Daarom wil ons dié spesiale mense bedank wat reg deur die jaar baie hard werk om lewens te help red,” sê Marlene Basson, Helpende Hand Oos-Kaap kliëntediensbeampte.
