Jazz-fees dié naweek

Jazz-klanke gaan eerskomende naweek in Gerald Smith-woonbuurt weerklink tydens die ATKV Edik-tak se jaarlikse gemeenskapsfees.

Die Jazz Town ATKV Fees 2015 word vanjaar vir die derde agtereenvolgende jaar aangebied en die program bied iets vir almal.

Môre-aand om 18:30 begin die amptelike opening waartydens platejoggies feesgangers met hulle keuses van musiek gaan vermaak.

Pretloop & straatmyl

Saterdag om 09:00 begin die fees met ’n pretloop in samewerking met Drug Free World SA, om mense bewus te maak van die hel van dwelmgebruik. Inskrywings is R20 vir volwassenes en R10 per kind. Alle deelnemers wat die roete voltooi sal elk ‘n medalje ontvang. Die eerste drie van elke kategorie wat klaarmaak sal kontantpryse kry.

‘n Opwindende straatmyl word ook gehou vanaf Uitenhage Hoërskool tot by die hoek van Van Rooyen- en Abbotstraat (waar die pretloop ook begin en eindig).

Ander aktiwiteite, buiten jazz-musiek wat heeldag gehoor kan word, sluit in ’n mode-kompetisie, plaaslike talent, demonstrasies deur die brandweer en polisie.

Sondag word ‘n kerkdiens om 10:00 by die Roselane-kerksaal in Gerald Smith en om 16:00 sluit die jazz-fees af met die sing van Kersliedere by dieselfde kerksaal.
