For the fourth time and third consecutive year Algoa Toyota Uitenhage was awarded the coveted Toyota President’s Award as Small Dealership of the Year.

This means Algoa Toyota has been the best small Toyota dealership in South Africa for 2012, 2014, 2015 and now also 2016.

Currently there are 204 Toyota dealerships across the country which are divided into small, medium, large and mega dealerships.

Calvin Parry, Dealer Principal at Algoa Toyota Uitenhage, received the award during the Toyota National Dealer Awards ceremony which was held at the International Conference Centre in Cape Town.

According to Parry, what makes their award outstanding is that more than half of the Toyota dealerships in the country are categorised as small, owing to the brand being so popular especially in the countryside.

He explained that the scoring system of the programme is based on a comprehensive set of metrics, which measures variables such as customer service, sustainability, vehicle marketing and sales, Automark sales and financial achievements.

“Our service and parts department also won the Lighthouse Dealer Awards for After Sales Highest Proficiency.

“You have to do exceptionally well in the parts and service sections to earn this award. And we again were among the top 8 dealers in the country, irrespective of size.

“The reason why we are good at it, is that we strictly follow the programme. It was designed to create good business. So, if you follow, you will be successful, it is proven,” said Parry.

He commented that the success of the Algoa Toyota Uitenhage dealership was based on good relationships and the commitment of each and every staff member.

“We simply are a happy bunch ... enjoying what we do,” said Parry.

Dewald Oelofse, Algoa Toyota Sales Manager, won an award for the Best Small Dealership New Vehicle Department in South Africa. In earning this he and his partner will be spoiled with an all-expenses paid trip to Dubai.

Parry has been around the globe for all the awards Algoa Toyota has won and this year will be visiting Paris and Berlin.

  • Algoa Toyota received four certificates honouring its national achievements, namely for the President’s Award as small dealership of the year, a certificate for being a Lighthouse Dealer, and also for its outstanding Customer Service and Toyota Financial Services.
