Fifteen year old Ruche Jansen from Uitenhage was crowned as the overall winner of the Port Elizabeth Model Hunt 2016.

She is a Grade 11 learner at John Walton Secondary School and aims to pursue studying psychology at University of Witwaters-rand. Apart from modelling, Ruche enjoys swimming and is involved with projects in support of Sinathemba Children’s Haven.

Runner-up in the Model Hunt was Ruwayda Kaisi (16) who also hails from Uitenhage. She is a Grade 11 learner at Uitenhage High School with a keen interest in football. She participated in the SwiftResponse Street Soccer Classic at Jubilee Park sports field where she attained the best behaved female trophy and she was a member of the team nominated for the best team award. She loves keeping up with the latest fashion trends and as part of extramural activities is a member of TADA (Teenagers Against Drugs and Alcohol) as well as the Alpha Leo group at school.

  • The girls, accompanied by Valene Samp-son from V Model Management, will during June visit Cape Town where they will spend the school holidays to be introduced to the modelling industry.
