The Ibhayi Rhythmic Gymnastics girls performed outstandingly at various national competitions during 2016 and where nominated for special awards during the Eastern Cape Gymnastics Awards Evening held during February.

The special awards went to Erin Brand, Kayla Blandford, Mareli Neethling, Monique Slabbert, Simone Barkhuizen, Sinothando Makaya, Dayna Venter and Linmari Botha.

Shantell Didloff, head coach, also walked away with awards for Junior Coach of the Year as well as Senior Coach of the Year.

“A huge thank you goes out to these girls for their hard work and outstanding motivation. Thank you also to Madeleine Dyssel who assisted with coaching, all these awards would have been impossible without the help and support you gave us throughout the year,” said Didloff.

She also thanked each parent, gymnast and granny who helped making this possible for Ibhayi Rhythmic Gymnastics Club.

The Club will expand with classes at Winterberg Primary as from the next quarter of the year.
