Methuselahs Golf: The Methuselahs hosted a celebration golf day in honour of Louis Sherman on his 82nd birthday, 50 years as an active golfer and 42 years as member at the Uitenhage golf club. The competition was played over 18 holes on a better ball format. Honours went to Hettie Steenberg/Melinda McKay on 46 points followed by Louis Sherman/Andre Rossouw on 44 points and Wiehann Viljoen/Jumbo Reynolds on 43 points. The Morris Olivier sponsored prize for nearest the pins on short holes went to Hein ‘No 1’ McLeod, Derek du Preez, Toekie Eckley and The Phantom. Nearest for 2 on the 9th and 18th holes was claimed by Ernie Dyer and Gerhard Sherman. The Teddy Bear award went the way of the Botha family, Hans and Jenny.
