Cindy Venter from the Sundays River Valley is the new Ms Hope International 2016.

Her entry into the competition was sponsored by the Kirkwood Wildsfees because of the work Cindy is doing in the community, according to Wildsfees director Jenni Honsbein.

Being Ms Hope International will help Venter raise more support and funding for projects she is working on the Sundays River Valley.

“As a community-owned festival we share Cindy’s passion for the people of the Valley, and are looking forward to partnering with her in the future,” says Honsbein.

A project that Venter has been working on for the last four years has been the upliftment of arts and craft entrepreneurs in the Sundays River Valley.

She has been helping with the marketing of the entrepreneurs.

Her dream and vision is to establish a craft factory in the area.

Venter was given the Community Service Award for the best community project in South Africa for the Limpopo province in 2012 at the Mrs United Nations SA Awards, followed by the Spirit of Excellence Award and Community Service Award for the best community projects in South Africa for the Eastern Cape Province in 2013 at the Mrs United Nations SA Awards.

In 2015 Venter won the Mrs Hope SA title which took her to the International pageant that took place on Saturday, December 5.

Venter now has the Ms Hope International 2016 title and she couldn’t be happier.

The biggest highlight of the pageant “was the outreach project at the Fisantekraal Centre for Development in Cape Town, where we played some South African games with the children.

“This was also a time where all the contestants came together doing what we all love together as one” says Venter.

Twenty women from around the world took part in this pageant that saw the Sunday’s River Valley’ very own Cindy Venter walking away with the title.
