Trail running - a mental challenge

2016-12-08 06:01

Incorporating the trail run routes of South Africa’s premier off-road triathlon, the Fedhealth XTERRA, the first trail run will kick off at the Buffelspoort Dam on January 22, 2017 before heading to the Nelson Mandela Bay and then Grabouw.

“Trail runners not yet ready for the challenge of an off road triathlon, can still experience the electric XTERRA vibe while taking on a third of the XTERRA challeng,” said Michael Meyer, Managing Director of Stillwater Sports.

Myuyisi Gcogco completed the 2016 XTERRA Trail Run (10.2km) in Nelson Mandela Bay in an impressive time of 38 minutes 27 seconds.

“Trail running is marvellous, it keeps your muscles healthy and challenges you mentally,” said Gcogco.

This outdoor action packed event will take place on February 12, 2017, at Kings Beach. Entry costs R120 for the 6km race and R180 for the 12km.
