U’hage learners in ‘court drama’

Learners from the V.N. Kwinana School in Uitenhage participated in the National Schools Moot Court Competition in Gauteng. In this competition the country’s best up-and-coming legal professionals came together for some real court room drama, showing their skills in arguing intricate legal arguments that all relate to the South African Constitution. This year the theme for the finals was particularly relevant with the case in question relating to protest action in high schools. The right to protest (Section 17 of the Constitution) as well as limitations of the right to protest was being argued and debated.
