Unattended cattle an increasing nuisance

2016-05-05 06:00

An irate resident of Uitenhage threatens to drive all the unattended cattle roaming the suburbs and highway to the Metro’s municipal offices.

Explaining his intention, Dave McCleland from the Garden Town Initiative said, fatal accidents involving unattended cattle are on the increase.

“It is like an invasion to ratepayers environments. Who pays for the accidental damage and loss of expensive shrubbery that these animals are causing in the town?” asked McCleland.

“No notice seems to be taken of the complaints registered. How can one bakkie and a trailer handle all the roaming animals in just about the whole Metro.

“I decided to organise a posse and drive the loose cattle through town and take them down to the municipal buildings during peak hours and see what they have to say … any takers folks … the more the merrier,” said McCleland.
