Unique stadium night relay returns

2017-05-18 06:00

The unique and exciting Town Lodge Business Night Relay returns to the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium at the end of the month for a series of 4 race nights held on the last Tuesday of May, June, July and August.

This fun corporate team building event is unique in South Africa in that it comprises a running and walking relay race through one of the iconic 2010 Football World Cup legacy multi-purpose stadiums.

Sponsored by the City Lodge Hotels Group, Town Lodge, the event is open to teams comprising 5 runners or 3 walkers with each team member running/walking a secure 3.5km distance within the stadium precinct. The route takes in 3 levels of the city’s majestic stadium.

“We really enjoy this growing winter event as it gives local companies the opportunity to come together and network whilst affording their staff the opportunity to get to know one another better in a fun and relaxing environment” said series director Mike Zoetmulder of Zsports Events NPC.

“Here’s a shout out to all companies and schools to motivate colleagues and friends to have fun challenging other corporate or school competitors on the athletic arena in a fun evening which offers corporate hospitality opportunities and an abundance of networking and team building opportunities for all.”

Online registration is possible on www.nightrelay.co.za with just the team captain/representatives details and the team name needed.

On the last Tuesday of each month, registration for pre-registered teams opens at 16:00 at the stadium with the run relay starting at 18:00 and the walkers 2 minutes later.

The prize giving is at 20:15 with floating trophies, medals and breakfast vouchers for category winners in the walk team, men’s run team, ladies run team and mixed run team categories. Traditionally a wide selection of fantastic lucky draw prizes are up for grabs each race night which includes a R500 Caltex fuel voucher, R1 000 cash and an accommodation voucher from the City Lodge Hotels Group.
