Johannesburg - One man died and 22 others were injured in a head-on collision between a bakkie and a car on the Hartbeesfontein Road near Klerksdorp in the North West province on Sunday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said the bakkie, with its 20 occupants, collided head-on with a car on Sunday evening.

Paramedics found the man seated in the front passenger seat of the car had been killed on impact.

The driver and a woman seated in the rear of the vehicle were in a critical condition.

The injured occupants of the bakkie were lying near the wreck. Of the 20, several were seriously injured, including a mother and her infant child, Wicks said.

All the injured people were treated and taken by ambulance to the Tshepong State Hospital in Klerksdorp.

I'm reading this article today the 9th of Jan 2013 and when I saw the date on which it was written, I thought to myself, this accident happned the day after the accident that I was in and it happened on the same road. Only to find out that it is actually an article about the accident that I was in on the 4th of Sep 2011 (to date i still have not fully recovered from it, I am the woman who was sitting in the rear). It saddens me that nothing was ever done with the driver who caused this, and the case has never even went to court, even now as I write this no statement has been taken from me as one of the victicm in that fatefull accident, and to make matters worse upon follow up by the driver of our car, the investigating officer actually said we are the one's who were travelling from hartebbesfontein to klerksdrop (which is totally the opposite)and we have are the one's who caused the collusion. May Tshepo Rachaka's soul rest in peace
