Richmond - A man was killed and two others were wounded during a business robbery in Richmond on Friday, KwaZulu-Natal police said.

Four men entered a shop on Chilli Road and held the owner and his son hostage, Lieutenant Colonel Thulani Zwane said.

Zwane said the suspects shot and killed the owner, a 55-year-old man.

Paramedics found the man lying in a pool of blood inside the shop, ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said.

Two other men were found at the scene with gunshot wounds. One had sustained only moderate injuries, while the second had been shot in the head, leaving him in critical condition, Meiring said.

Paramedics treated both men and provided the critically injured man with advanced life support.

The four robbers fled the scene with stolen goods. However, two of the men were arrested later on Friday.

The other two were still at large.
