Johannesburg - A woman was killed and six other people injured in a three vehicle pile-up in Ventersdorp in the North West, paramedics said on Saturday.

"Common cause information indicates that two vehicles had drawn to a halt at the roadside after one had broken down [on Friday night]," Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said.

"A third, travelling in the same direction, failed to avoid the stationary vehicles and collided with them."

The woman, who was travelling in the third car, was killed on impact. Her body was heavily entrapped in the wreckage, said Wicks.

The six injured were taken to the Tshepong State Hospital.

Were their hazards on? Did they put out the warning triangle? Did they pull off to the side of the road?

You have a few good questions there. One of the most would be: Did anyone of them have a valid driving licence, or was it these that you can buy for a few hundred bucks 'cause if they did they would have taken the neccesary precautions. In any event, my condolences to the the womens family.
