10 robbers hit pension point

Johannesburg - Ten armed men escaped with an undisclosed amount of money after they overpowered guards off-loading cash at a pension point on the West Rand on Tuesday, said police.
Inspector Solomon Sibiya said the men overpowered the cash-in-transit guards at the Kagiso pension point.
"The robbers stole two cash boxes and two firearms. Police were quick to arrive and chased the robbers who were travelling in two cars," he said.
The robbers fired shots at police and then fled from their cars into an informal settlement
"Two cash boxes and a bag of money were recovered from one of the vehicles. One of the cash boxes was empty," said Sibiya.
No one was injured during the exchange of gunfire and police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
