Cape Town - A neighbour of murdered Italian businessman Fabio Lenzi says she tried to call 10111, but all she got was a pre-recorded message saying all the operators are busy. There was music playing in the background, the woman who did not wish to be identified, said.
She said when she eventually did get through, the operator was very rude to her.
They had to wait 20 minutes for police to arrived.
Lenzi, 36, and his fiancé, Dianne Capri-Thomas, had just parked their car in front of Capri Court, Vredehoek, when three men in a bakkie stopped next to them.
The men were armed.
They demanded cellphones, jewellery and money.
The robbers forced Lenzi and Capri-Thomas from the car and, without warning, shot Lenzi in the chest. One of the robbers made off in Lenzi's car.
The Italian, who had been involved in the modeling agency Max Models, died on his way to hospital.
Capri-Thomas is staying with friends.
