122 held in Jhb crime blitz

Johannesburg - Johannesburg police said on Friday that they had arrested 122 people in an operation carried out on Thursday night in Hillbrow's policing precinct.
Captain Bhekizizwe Mavundla said Operation Special Crimes Combat was carried out together with immigration officials.
"The people were arrested for various crimes, including dealing in cocaine rocks, hijacking, street robberies and fraud."
Mavundla said police would intensify their operations in Hillbrow with a special focus on hotels and nightclubs.
The operation started at 22:00 on Thursday and ended at 04:00 on Friday.
