15 000 pray at Union Buildings

Johannesburg - About 15 000 people gathered at the Union Buildings on Saturday to pray for the government, Rapport newspaper reported.

Democratic Alliance leader Helen Zille and Freedom Front Plus leader Pieter Mulder joined evangelist Angus Buchan on the stage as he prayed for them and President Jacob Zuma, who was not present at the gathering.

Zille told Rapport she shared the crowd's belief in the importance of love. Mulder said the Christian faith had to be lived voluntarily and not enforced by law, as some speakers at the event called for.
