Johannesburg - Fifteen people were injured when two minibus taxis collided on the N12 westbound carriageway near the Putfontein off-ramp in Benoni on Saturday, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Jeffrey Wicks said it looked as if one of the taxis had stopped at the side of the road and the second crashed into it from behind.

"Paramedics arrived to find fifteen passengers from both vehicles, in and near the wreckage," Wicks said.
The injured were taken to various state hospitals, said Wicks.
