2012-04-03 07:29

Durban - Sixteen people were injured when a minibus taxi rolled several times on the M25 in Durban on Tuesday morning, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesperson Chris Botha said when paramedics arrived they found the crumpled remains of the taxi obstructing the roadway.

"The patients clambered from the wreckage and were found at the side of the roadway."

Botha said the people were treated on the scene before they were transported to nearby hospitals.

I use a taxis everyday to get work hardly any of them are road worthy

      andrew.hewittcoleman - 2012-04-03 08:40

If they are not roadworthy, or driving badly, you should report them on www.drivelikeachop.co.za

      Massey - 2012-04-03 09:46

@MandrewZA, do you think that will bother them? I mean they transport people in taxi's that are not roadworthy and they drive like total idiots. They don't give a sh1t about a red light or red line, why would they care if their numberplate is mentioned on a site? Just asking, not attacking. If it would help, then yes, everyone should report it.

Sharlene Stafford I travel by taxi evryday and all i c can do is pray for Gods hand over my life when i leave home. What more can we say because people who are suppose to sort out the poblem when it comes to speed and road worthiness are on a go slow. It's terrible especially the morning and afternoon rush. Lord protect us all,not jis from careless taxi drivers but from all careless road users.

      Jacqui - 2012-04-03 13:45

Sharlene, I feel for you, especially now that the higher gas prices are going to make the taxis even more expensive. They are death traps on wheels.

      Johann - 2012-04-03 14:07

Dear Sharlene. It is because money is wasted on e-tolling campaigns and PEACE Officers that you do not have the freedom of driving on raods that are patrolled by law enforcers. Wish Government and SANRAL would pay more attention to unroadworhty vehicles and less time on collecting money on roads that were there before they worked on it. I pray with you every morning!

  • Sharlene - 2012-04-03 09:54

I travel with taxis everyday to and from work but what else can we do but pray for Gods hand of protection over our lives when we leave our homes. We sit in those taxis terrified especially during the morning and afternoon rush. All we can do is pray for Gods hand over us,not just from the irresponsible taxi drivers but from every careless road user!

18 years on and the failure at the helm still cannot offer cheap reliable and safe transport for its people, or even regulate a regulated industry. How many million did we loose on the taxi swap plan that never happened 50 million wasn't it?

      Jacqui - 2012-04-03 13:46

Why can't we have the buses we had years ago?. I still can't understand why they were done away with.
