Johannesburg - Two pensioners have been killed in Ngcobo, in the Eastern
Cape, police said on Friday.
A 73-year-old woman was found strangled at her home in Manzana, where she
lived alone, on Friday morning said Colonel Mzukisi Fatyela.
"We are suspicious that she was raped because of the evidence we have
on the scene," he said.
In Mthintloni, Ngcobo, a 77-year-old man was shot dead by unknown gunmen on
Thursday night, said Fatyela.
"His assailants shot him through the window. Four empty cartridges of
9mm pistol were found at the crime scene."
Two men, aged 23 and 26, had been taken in for questioning and would be
arrested if they could be linked to the crime.
Fatyela said police had established a task team to investigate the two
murders.
