Johannesburg - Two men have been arrested for a shop robbery in Cullinan, Gauteng, which left two injured, Bronkhorstspruit police said on Wednesday.

"Police are on the trail of three other suspects involved," said police spokesperson Johannes Jaftha.

On Tuesday afternoon four armed men entered a shop owned by a Somalian.

"They held up two men in the shop, hitting one over the head with a firearm. He is in a serious condition."

The other man was shot in the arm. The robbers stole groceries, airtime, and cash before escaping in a car driven by an accomplice.

Following leads, police arrested two of the alleged robbers in Ekangala in the early hours of Wednesday.

One of the men arrested was a "habitual criminal", said Jaftha.

"He is still out on bail in an outstanding case of robbery in the East Rand."

The two would appear in court on Friday on armed robbery and attempted murder charges. Police hoped to arrest the others involved soon.
