2 arrested for alleged murder of teen at tavern

Johannesburg - Two men were arrested on Wednesday morning for the alleged murder of a 17 year-old boy at a tavern in Diepsloot, police said.

The boy was shot dead during a robbery.

The teenager was shot in the upper body, while a patron suffered a gunshot wound on the lower body, warrant officer Daniel Mavimbela said.

One of the suspects was caught in extension 12 and the other suspect was found in Johannesburg.

A manhunt was launched for the remaining suspects. 

The suspects would be charged with murder, attempted murder, aggravating robbery and malicious damage to property. 

They would appear in the Randburg Magistrate's Court soon.
