2 children die as bakkie hits tractor

Cape Town - Two children were killed and 11 others injured when their bakkie crashed into a tractor on Brede River Road in Worcester on Friday morning, Western Cape police said.

The Isuzu bakkie rolled a few times after the collision.

A 9-year-old and 14-year-old were declared dead at the scene, spokesperson Warrant Officer November Filander said.

The children were on their way to school.

The drivers of the bakkie and the tractor, as well as an adult passenger, were among the injured.

    It should be illegal for any one to ride in the back of a bakkie. Everyone travelling in a vehiclew should be in a seat and MUST wear a seat belt.

      I believe it is illegal. I have just spent 4 weeks in SA and the driving was horrendous. I was a victim of road rage from 2 different woman because i was driving with due care and attention instead of undertaking and weaving through cars.
