Durban - Two people died and two were injured when their car crashed into the back of a truck on the N3 in Camperdown, on Friday morning, paramedics said.

ER 24 spokesperson Derrick Banks said the family of four were Durban bound when the accident happened.

"The mother and one of their daughters died on the scene. The father and the body of the mother were still entrapped inside the wreckage after 7am ," he said.

Banks said the other girl is in a serious condition and paramedics were stabilising her on the scene.

The jaws of life would be used to remove the man and the body of the woman from the scene, he said.
