Johannesburg - Two people died and one was injured when their double cab
bakkie hit a tree in Alberton on Tuesday night, said Ekurhuleni metro police.
Spokesperson Kobeli Mokheseng said they were travelling on the K146 towards
Eden Park when something disturbed the driver and he lost control of the
bakkie.
The vehicle swerved right, into a veld where it crashed into a tree.
"There was no report of another motor vehicle involved," he said.
Two women in the bakkie, aged 26 and 60, died on the scene. The 36-year-old
driver was injured and was taken to the Natalspruit hospital.
A case of culpable homicide had been opened at the Brackendowns police
station.
