Pretoria – Two people were killed on Monday morning in a collision between a bakkie and another vehicle on the R25 near Welbekend outside Pretoria.

According to Netcare911 spokesperson Athlenda Mathe, it is believed that one of those killed was a pedestrian, while the other was a passenger in one of the vehicles.

Three other people were also injured in the accident.

"Three people sustained moderate injuries. They were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care," Mathe said.

The exact cause of the accident was being investigated by the police.
